Osian duo was formed in 2016 by Italian flautist Chiara Boschian Cuch and Mexican guitarist Eduardo Cervera.
Chiara and Eduardo each obtained a First-Class Honours master’s degree from the “Jacopo Tomadini” Conservatory of Music in Udine, Italy, under the guidance of flautists Giorgio Marcossi, Anna Tirindelli, and Angela Camerini, as well as guitarist Stefano Viola.
They attended masterclasses in chamber music repertoire with maestros Franco Calabretto, Lorenzo Bertoldi, Francisco Lopez and Frédéric Zigante, and they attended the chamber music high-level course held by the renowned Cavatina duo (Eugenia Moliner, flute, and Denis Azabagic, guitar) in Spain.
Recently they won the first prize at the prestigious Chamber Music International Competition Paganini Guitar Festival 2025 in Parma (Italy) and the special prize “Astor Piazzolla” for the best interpretation of a work by a Latin-American composer.
They also obtained other prizes at very prestigious International Competitions like the first prize at the III International Chamber Music Competition for flute and guitar “Juan Gual Esteve” in Burriana, Castellón and the first prize at the I Concurso de música de cámara con guitarra “Elda 2024” in Elda, Alicante (Spain); the first prize at the 20° Altamira Gorizia Guitar Competition “Enrico Mercatali” in Gorizia, the first prize at the XIV International Competition “Musica Insieme” in Musile di Piave, Venice, the “Diapson d’oro” in Pordenone and the “XXXVIII Lilian Caraian Chamber Music Competition” in Trieste (Italy).
They have a world performing career, playing in Festivals and concert halls both in their country of residence, Italy, and abroad, including Spain, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Lithuania and Mexico.
In November 2023 they performed as soloists the G major Concerto by Ferdinando Carulli for flute, guitar and orchestra with the “Schubert Orchestra” conducted by Maurizio Zaccaria.
As a duo, they perform a wide repertoire of original music, covering all periods of musical history. With a focus on 20th-century and contemporary classical music, they perform numerous pieces by living composers.
In Italy, the duo performed the world premiere of the Suite for flute and guitar by Mexican composer Roberto Abraham and in 2023 they released an album with the works for flute and guitar by the same composer.
